Smotherman Farms, Ltd. has been awarded several state and national Environmental Stewardship Awards that recognized our innovative conservation efforts and sustainable agricultural policies and methods.  We know the importance of maintaining the lands that God gave us to work that enabled us feed ourselves and others.  We, as farmers, understand that if we use the land without repairing and replenishing what we used... that soon what once provided for our needs will, one day, not.  Thus, leaving a barren land and a dying population.  It  only makes sense to be responsible and good stewards of the land.

Texas Family Business of the Year Award Program - Finalist
Baylor University's Institute for Family Business recognizes firms whose families demonstrate a commitment to each other and to business continuity through its Annual Texas Family Business of the Year Awards. These firms are all responsive to the needs of their employees, communities and industries.

National Brand Marketing Campaigns
In 2014,  Dana & I were  selected as the inaugural family farm to launch a national marketing campaign for 2 major turkey brands.   The  video, print and in-person events campaign continued for several years. In the summer and fall of 2017,  Dana & I were  asked  as 1 of 4 pilot family farms to test the market for a pioneering, new &  revolutionary,  first of its kind "Traceable Turkey" program.  There would be farm-to-table traceability on every package.

Based on Blockchain Supply Technology , the program connected  consumers with the farm  their turkey was actually raised on along with the family that cared for it.   The Tracible Turkey allowed the consumer  to take a virtual tour of our farm and meet  Dana, Beau and I... the  family that cared for and raised their turkey. The following year the program was implemented nationwide.  'Traceability' provided us a unique opportunity to let the consumers know who we are and why we do what we do.  We're proud of what we raise and are blessed to be American Farmers.
